Matcha in Bozeman
Montana is one of our favorite places to visit. The wide open spaces, access to the park and the incredible Pine Creek Lodge draw us in year after year. Food and drink can be a bit tough for someone with food issues like me so we’ve spent a lot of time curating the places with the best food and drink for my health issues.
We discovered Treeline Coffee Roasters on the last day of our first Montana trip together. Their coffee is excellent — no surprise because it’s a coffee roaster — but their matcha is solid too. It’s now become our mecca, stopping by at least once on every trip. It’s a travel matcha I genuinely look forward to.
Treeline is a great place to sip and relax. Besides great matcha and coffee they have pastries and yummy burritos. The baristas are friendly and exceptionally good at making drinks. They even do a great job getting good froth — not always easy with almond milk!
Their matcha is unsweetened so you don’t have to worry about sugar in the matcha or asking them not to sweeten it. Their matcha isn’t bitter at all and is quite smooth with the lightest touch of sweetness to it. They use the Califia barista brand which is one of my favorites. They also have 8oz, 12oz and 16oz options which gives a nice variety depending on your caffeine tolerance. For alternative milks they have oat and almond.
Do note that like many coffee shops in Montana, they close early. Many coffee shops close but 2pm but Treeline stays open until 4pm. They also have a location at Big Sky if you happen to be at the resort, check them out.
There are other matcha places in Bozeman but since we discovered Treeline we haven’t checked them out. Maybe one day, if I feel adventurous.
We go to Mill District location which has a bunch of cute stores and places to nosh. This is a super cute area to wile away an afternoon. While we were there I couldn’t resist picking up a hat from my favorite matcha in Montana. I can’t wait to rep it back home.
